CDC says it erroneously posted guidance that said coronavirus spreads through air and travels beyond 6 feet

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday that it mistakenly posted direction that said the Covid spreads through airborne particles that can stay suspended noticeable all around and travel past six feet.

“A draft version of proposed changes to these recommendations was posted in error to the agency’s official website,” the CDC said Monday. “CDC is currently updating its recommendations regarding airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19). Prior in the day, the World Health Organization said it reached the CDC about the direction change.

The WHO had not seen any “new evidence” on airborne particles and was checking with the CDC to “better understand” the specific idea of the change, Dr. Mike Ryan, chief overseer of the WHO’s wellbeing crises program, said during a news gathering at the organization’s Geneva central command.
