Kolkata: At least two individuals, including a 12- year-old kid, were killed in a fire that broke out in an eight-story private structure in Kolkata’s Ganesh Chandra Avenue on Friday night, authorities said.
The wide range of various occupants of the structure have been safeguarded and the fire is leveled out, news organization PTI cited Bengal Fire Services Minister Sujit Bose as saying.
“All the residents have been rescued. The fire is also under control. Presently cooling off is being done,” said Mr Bose.
The fire broke out in the main floor of the structure and spread to the upper floors, a Fire Brigade official was cited by PTI.
At any rate 10 fire tenders and a pressure driven stepping stool were sent to protect those caught inside the structure and to soak the burst, the authorities said.
