The latest on Rahul Roy’s health update is that he is responding to treatment better than yesterday and has been shifted from the ICU of Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital to a room. Talking to ETimes about an hour ago, his brother-in-law Romeer informed this and also added that the doctors have started Rahul’s speech and physical therapy (also known as physiotherapy). Romeer also said, “Rahul is now out of danger.”
We also have it that Rahul was moved out from the Intensive Care Unit sometime this afternoon.
Rewind: Rahul suffered a brain stroke in Kargil last week, where he had been to shoot for his digital film ‘LAC- Live The Battle’ directed by Nitin Kumar Gupta. The film stars Nishant Singh Malkani in the lead role. After a CT scan in a Military Hospital, Rahul was airlifted in a helicopter to Srinagar from where he was flown in to Mumbai and driven straight to Nanavati in the city’s western suburbs.
The exact reason of the stroke cannot be ascertained but seemingly, the high altitudes where the temperature was -15 degrees during the shoot got to Rahul and he initially started to feel a little lost and confused, following which he was unable to form sentences (a condition called Aphasia).
Romeer who’s married to Rahul’s sister Priyanka has been constantly by Rahul’s side. Ditto for Priyanka. Rahul also has a twin brother Rohit who stays abroad and has been constantly in touch with his family members in Mumbai.
We continue to pray for Rahul’s recovery.
